About the Photographer
Known as KT, Dr King Tong HO was a senior lecturer in the School of Art & Design at AUT University between 2002 and 2018. His teaching and research areas were postgraduate supervision, photography and digital imaging as well as Chinese aesthetics and philosophy in contemporary art and design practices. In recent years, KT focuses on the study of East and West cross-cultural ideas in art and design communication.
In December 2018, he retired from academia to continue with his photography project on the Chinese history of New Zealand. He is currently a member of the New Zealand Chinese Association Inc and the Auckland Chinese Community Centre Inc.
In Hong Kong, before he immigrated to New Zealand in 1994, KT HO was a founding member of the Hong Kong Institute of Professional Photographers (HKIPP) and a member of the Hong Kong Designers Association (HKDA).
